According to a spokesperson for the Australian Federal Police (AFP), an investigation has been launched, and a crime scene has been established at the location. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
An airport representative reported that no one was injured in the incident, and operations at the facility have since returned to normal.
“Sydney Airport is currently cooperating with the Australian Federal Police regarding an incident that occurred earlier today,” the spokesperson stated.
“No injuries were reported as a result of the event. An arrest has been made, and the airport is functioning as usual,” the spokesperson added.
